1-Introduction
(a) Name :National African Relief Organization(NARO)
(b) Information:
NARO-was established in Banjul in 2016 as an NGO and became a charitable trust . The civil society organisation's main areas of focus is on health, development issues .
NARO- aims to help the central government's development programs via its economic and social empowerment schemes with the aim of improving the welfare of people living in all communities.
(c) Funding:
NARO- is funded by monies created by its founders . Its community schemes are financed by donations and grants made within The Gambia and from international donors.
(d) Vision:
NARO's future vision is a wider and more inclusive view of the Gambian people to improve their quality of life and health.
2- Aims
a. To support development and welfare .
b.To provide vitally needed medical treatment, including testing and medicines for low cost or free of charge to the poor and open to all .
c. To fight malaria,HIV,and TB
d. Work with other groups and exchange information
e. Do anything that is lawful which will help it to fulfill its aims
f. Help to establish health centers .
3 -Membership
(a) Membership of the Group shall be open to any person over 18 or any organization living or located in the _Gambia_____ who is interested in helping the Group to achieve its aims, willing to abide by the rules of the Group and willing to pay any subscription
agreed by the Management Committee.
(b) Membership shall be available to anyone without regard to gender, race, nationality,
disability, sexual preference, religion or belief.
4- Management
(a) The Group shall be administered by a Management Committee of the Officers .
(b) The Officers of the Management Committee shall be: the Chairperson (Director general), Treasurer (Financial officer)
and (Liaison officer) .
5 -Duties of the Officers
(a) The duties of the Chairperson are to:
• chair meetings of the Committee and the Group
• Has authority to sack any officer of administration or any member ,and replace him by other.
(b) The duties of the Liaison officer are to:
• take and keep minutes of meetings
• prepare the agenda for meetings of the Committee and the Group in consultation with the Chairperson
• collect and circulate any relevant information within the Group
(c) The duties of the Treasurer are to:
• To prepare financial reports for NGO with co-operation of
( DG) chairperson.
6- Annual General Meeting
(1) The Group shall hold an Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.) .
(b) The Group shall be given at least fourteen days’ notice of the A.G.M.
